An Interview with a Foreigner

Hi, guys! On the 8th of May, my friends and I, Ella and Mia, went to meet up with a good friend of Ella. Her name is Lamija Lagumdzija. You guys might know her because she's a professional model. But, do you know what else? That girl is insanely smart too! She came to Indonesia on a scholarship provided by Gunadarma University to study computer science. All the while, she also pursued her career as a model here. Are you interested to know more about her? Well, here's a little video of the interview we had with her.

She's not only pretty, but she's really nice too...

A Visit to Funtastic Tour and Travl Agent

-Natural Tour.

They manage not only domestic tours all over Indonesia, but also international ones. Not only do they manage tours and travels, they also help in providing:

-Airline Tikets(domestic and international)
-Hotel Vouchers

-MICE
-Umroh and Haji Plus

The Brochures

When my friends and I visited their outlet in Kelapa Dua, we met their very nice and helpful agents; Furi and Tantri. They explained to us the various types of tours their agency provided. For a short period of time, Funtastic Tour and Travel has developed greatly - which is just amazing, seeing the rather tight competition among travel agencies today. They also told us that Funtastic Tour and Travel offers business partnerships for anyone interested in the travel agent business (individual or corporate). The business partnership they offer is the use of an online reservation system “Funtastic Online System” .

Ella and Tantri

I'm sorry, for not took a picture because i was so ugly HEHE

They told us that Gunadarma students have been their ever-loyal customers since nearly the first day they started the business. It could be because their outlet is just right across our campus. Anyway, if you guys are interested in contacting them and using Funtastic services to manage your tour, here's a little contact information about them.

In the outdor of TMII Transportation Museum

In front left, there’s an ex-Garuda Indonesia DC-9 PK-GNT plane that used to serve ASEAN countries and Australia.

If walking to the left through the railway, there would be a landmark “Kemijen”, name of a village in Semarang where the first railway station in Indonesia was built.

Ceremonial in the village took place on Friday, June 17th, 1864 with the ground-breaking rail road works by Governor General of the Dutch East Indies, LAJ Sloet Baron van den Beele.

In front of middle building there’s ZM Willem III Lighthouse made in 1879 from steel. Its electric motors were three passes with a 1000-watt bulb that could be seen from 20 nautical miles.

In the outdoor display of TMII Transportation Museum there’s original Steam Locomotive type-10437, wood-fueled, which could only reach a maximum speed of 10 km/h.

I’m with The Tall Red

The locomotive mady by Henschel & Sohn Cassel West Germany in 1911 was used in Cirebon Gempol Sugar Factory in 1912 – 1995. There’s also the first double-Decker bus in Indonesia called The Tall Red, a British Leyland brand with a length of 9.5 m, width 2.5 m, height 4.45 m, served Blom M – Salemba – Senen. On its left was the city bus DAMRI.

Traditional boat named “Jayapura I” was displayed in the outdoor area of Jakarta TMII Transportation Museum. The boat is found in the North coast of Jayapura district. The Boat, weighing 2 tons typical of Wariy Tribe, was created in Kampung Ambore in June-July 1995 using Goro Wood for the boat body and Forest Wood Pinang for the above-hull boat.

Further to the left on the outside area of the Jakarta TMII Transportation Museum there’s Traffic Park. Behind it there were collections of locomotives and railway carriages.

There were also a train tunnel and Extraordinary Coach used by President Sukarno and Vice President Mohammad Hatta when the Indonesian government was moved to Yogyakarta.

Although most of the Jakarta TMII Transportation Museum collection were made by foreign countries, but still I was struck with so many transportation-related objects stored in the museum, which were mostly originals and in good conditions.

I think you will also be fascinated with the collection when visiting the museum someday.

Basic Persuasion Technique

1. Association

Persuasion technique that tries to link a product, service, or idea with something already liked or desired by the target audience.

Exs : Fun, pleasure, beauty, security, intimacy, success, wealth, etc. Can be a very powerful technique.
Brand association is any impression that emerges is associated with the memory of a brand.
Aqua is one of the brand association, which is supported by advertising on television, radio, print media, explaining that aqua is a beverage product in the packaging.
For example, when ads appear aqua depicted is
" sebuah botol yang berisi air jernih yang bersumber dari mata air pegunungan dan setiap
tetes AQUA adalah ciptaan berharga dengan keseimbangan alami kandungan mineral yang
terjaga
2. Bandwagon
Many ads show lots of people using the product, implying that "everyone is doing it" (or  at
least, "all the cool people are doing it").
On that video advertisement, called "unlimited future" the narrator said that everyone could be
whatever they want in the future and there is not limit for the future, you could be whatever you
want. The thing is, you just have to do it to reach your dream. Just like Nike's slogan "Just Do It".
3. Beautiful People
Beautiful people uses good-looking models (who may also be celebrities) to attract our
attention.
On that ads, Laudya Cynthia Bella shown us her flawless skin and its said
"Mau BENING? Harus komplit cerahnya",
It pursued people to buy that product, so people can have a flawless skin like her.
4. Bribery
This technique tries to persuade us to
buy a product by promising to give us something else, like a discount, a rebate, a coupon, or
"free gift.”
Both advertisement pledge us a gift if buy their products. So, if we buy their product, we wish
that we can get one of the gift. It makes people want to but the products more and more to get
a bigger chance to win.
5. Celebrities
(A type of Testimonial – the opposite
of Plain folks.) We tend to pay attention
 to famous people.
That’s why they’re famous! Ads often
use celebrities to grab our attention.
Maybe lots of us remember Pantene's ads when Anggun said
"Dulu...pernah sih coba shampo lain. Tapi...."
She try to gives us a testimonial for using Pantene and try to convince people if you use that
product, you'll get a hair like Anggun's hair on that ads.
